MTS agrees with Apple on direct iPhone supplies by Jul 2019
MOSCOW, Aug 29 (PRIME) -- Russia’s major mobile operator MTS has signed a contract with Apple on direct supplies of iPhone smartphones until June 30, 2019, according to the operator’s documents released late on Monday.
“In April 2017, the (MTS) group signed a contract with Apple RUS LLC on the purchase in the period up to June 30, 2019, of 615,000 iPhone devices in compliance with the price list in force as of the date of the purchase,” the documents read.
MTS had not purchased Apple’s products directly till June 30 and had worked only via distributors.
“Apple’s smartphones have been always present on shelves of MTS’ stores, and anybody could buy them. The question of their delivery to our retail, either via dealers or directly, is of secondary importance. Now, it’s more convenient for us to work directly,” the operator’s spokesman Dmitry Solodovnikov said.
Under the contract, MTS pledges to unroll an advertising campaign to promote iPhone products.
